Jim & Rachel Bennett are sent out by Tri-Lakes Baptist Church to work as resident missionary staff at Camp Barakel.

Jim is working in the camp office overseeing bookkeeping, registering guests, and other behind-the-scenes processes. Rachel is serving the camp in food service and cleaning, as well as bringing her musical talents to Chapel services.

Jim grew up in Chelsea and Rachel in Howell. They both came to Christ during their childhoods and both experienced God’s spiritual work in their lives through the ministry of Camp Barakel at various times. They both went to college at Western Michigan University where Rachel studied music and education and Jim studied computer science. Since college, Rachel and Jim have lived in Noblesville, Indiana and most recently near Brighton, Michigan. Over the years, the Lord has provided Jim with technology jobs allowing Rachel to stay at home and home-school their three daughters, Grace, MaryEmma and Lydia.

Jim and Rachel have been members of Tri-Lakes for many years. Jim serves as a deacon in the church and in various ministries including youth group and mission trips, as well as helping with technology. Rachel serves in children’s ministries like Vacation Bible School and nursery, as well as a variety of music ministries.

We as a church heartily commend them to God in this endeavor and all of the Bennetts are eager to be used of God in this Gospel spreading work at Camp Barakel. We are praying that God brings their needed financial support soon.

The Bennetts were officially commissioned by our church on November 11, 2018.
